MAINGEAR R2 | RAZER Edition Compact Gaming PC Launches With Ryzen Or Core i9 Muscle

Do you love the color green? How about Razer and MAINGEAR products? Is the R1 | Razer Edition a little bit too big? MAINGEAR has one answer to all of those questions, and it comes to us in the form of the R2 | Razer Edition, a gaming PC that occupies 50% less space than the original, which launched last fall.

MAINGEAR's goal with this build wasn't just to make it look good, but to make sure it offered more than the expected performance out of such a small box. Intel's Core i9 processors can be configured with this model, but as of the time of writing, no such SKU is available on MAINGEAR's website.

Stock configurations of the R2 begin at $1,099 for an AMD Ryzen build, and $1,199 for an Intel build. The AMD stock build includes the Ryzen 5 1400 and can be upgraded to any other Ryzen chip that exists, whereas the Intel build begins at i5-7500 and scales up to i7-7700K. We'd expect the X299 configurations to become available shortly.

MAINGEAR also offers "Super Stock" configurations, which in neither case upgrades the CPU or memory configuration, but does boost the GPU from a GeForce GTX 1060 to a GTX 1070. At the same time, a huge amount of performance enhancements and luxury features are added, including the implementation of a top-end liquid cooled solution.

If you're someone who hates a noticeably audible PC, you might appreciate the fact that MAINGEAR promises that the open-loop cooler for the R2 will allow the PC to run "virtually silent" even at ultra detail settings. This is important for streamers who don't want their viewers to hear their PC, or suffer with weaker detail settings to ogle over.

Do you appreciate good craftsmanship? There's another perk: each R2 will be built by the same "master craftsman" from start to finish, continuing MAINGEAR's "One Man: One Machine" philosophy.

If you want to snatch one of these beauts up, you'll be happy to know that they're available right now.
