ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero AMD AM4 X370 Ryzen Motherboard Gets Unboxed On Video

While everyone seems to be incredibly excited about AMD’s upcoming Ryzen processors, the motherboards that will pair with the monster chips are just as important. Today, we bring you some X370 chipset lovin’ courtesy of a new unboxing video that showcases the ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero. Sean from KWASTEK was sent an early board direct from ASUS and while we can’t say for sure if he’s breaking the NDA, it surely seems plausible.

If you’re familiar with packaging from ASUS’s most recent ROG products (including its gaming notebooks), things are quite similar here with the ROG Crosshair VI Hero. Opening the box shows the monochromatic motherboard sitting beneath a plastic cover. Removing the cover allows you to quickly gain access to the black beauty. Other goodies inside include a high-bandwidth SLI bridge, I/O shield, four SATA cables, and RGB cable (among other things).

The video gives nice, slow panning shots of every aspect of the board, so be sure to watch it all the way through.

In other ROG Crosshair VI Hero news, ASUS had a minor snafu earlier today when the product page for the motherboard went live ahead of schedule. Luckily, we have Google Cache to rely on to take a look at nearly every aspect of the motherboard. For a general overview of the motherboard, you can expect to find:

  • ROG Water Cooling Zone: Dominate your cooling system

AMD has five AM4 chipsets lined up for Ryzen, starting from the entry-level A300, then advancing through the A320, B350, X300 and X370. All but the A300 and A320 support overclocking (they are destined to go in budget motherboards and for cost considerations don’t include the feature). The ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero is just the latest in a long line of AM4 motherboards that will grace us over the next few weeks and months as the Ryzen freight train leaves the station.
