HP Refreshes Spectre x360 With Kaby Lake, Unveils ENVY AIO 27 And ENVY 27 4K Display
We’ll kick things off with the Spectre x360, which is now sporting 7th generation Intel Kaby Lake processors. Thanks to the more efficient Core processors and a larger 57.8 Whr battery, the Spectre x360 can now last 25 percent longer per charge, bringing total runtime to 15 hours. HP has also made the bezels even smaller by trimming 10mm from the right and left sides of the display. Couple that with a thinner chassis (made possible by a new hinge design) and lighter weight (2.85 pounds versus 3.2 pounds), and you have an incredibly compact yet more powerful convertible to power through your daily computing needs.
Customers can choose from Core i5 or Core i7 processors, and up to a 1TB PCIe SSD can be configured. The Spectre x360 features a 13.3-inch Full HD touch display which is powered by an Intel HD Graphics 620 IGP. Other features include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, Bang & Olufsen quad speakers, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, one USB 3.1 port, and DisplayPort 1.2. The convertible also comes with a TrueVision FHD IR webcam that supports Windows Hello.
Moving on, the ENVY Laptop also incorporates a 13.3-inch display, but in a more conventional form-factor. Whereas the Spectre x360 is only available with a FHD display, the ENVY Laptop can be configured with either a QHD+ or UHD panel (you can even add optional edge-to-edge flush glass).
You’ll be able to choose from Kaby Lake Core i5 or Core i7 processors, up to a 1TB PCIe SSD and up to 16GB of memory. HP Fast Charge support will get you from 0 percent to a 90 percent charge in just 90 minutes. Speaking of the battery, the ENVY Laptop also comes with a 57.8 Whr battery that can last up to 14 hours. Other features include dual Bang & Olufsen speakers, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, a single USB-C 3.1 port, two USB 3.1 ports, a single HDMI port and a microSD card reader.
Rounding out HP’s new PC lineup is the ENVY AIO 27, which as its name implies come with a 27-inch touch display (with a QHD resolution). This time around, HP has moved the computing components to the base of the unit, which reduces the thickness of the display by 44 percent. Unfortunately, while the Spectre x360 and ENVY Notebook 13 are rocking Kaby Lake power, the ENVY AIO 27 instead makes use of Skylake Core i5 and Core i7 processors. And while you’ll be happy to know that discrete graphics is optional, you’ll be able to select up to a GeForce GTX 950M instead of NVIDIA’s new Pascal-based mobile graphics cards.
The ENVY AIO can be configured with up to a 256GB SSD + 2TB HDD hybrid storage subsystem and you’ll find support for USB-C/Thunderbolt, 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, Bang & Olufsen audio with quad speakers, and a pop-up HP Privacy Camera.
HP’s fourth new product today is the ENVY 27 Display, which gives you a 27-inch 4K display (3840x2160 @ 60Hz). The display has 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles and a typical brightness rating of 350 nits. As for ports, you’ll find HDMI 2.0, HDMI 1.4, USB-C, and DisplayPort 1.2. And for your Radeon gamers out there, the ENVY 27 Display supports AMD FreeSync.
