Hands-on Samsung Galaxy TabPro S, Super-Thin Windows 10 Hybrid Tablet With Super AMOLED Display

Samsung’s new 2-in-1 tablet made an appearance at CES 2016 this week. The 6.3mm-thin Galaxy TabPro S runs Windows 10 and has an estimated battery life of 10.5 hours. The Hot Hardware team had a chance to check out the tablet in Las Vegas.

Featuring a dual-core, Intel Core M processor at 2.2GHz, the Galaxy TabPro S looks like it will have the chops for business use. Memory will be 4GB no matter which model you pick up, but you’ll have two storage options: a 128GB SSD or a 256GB SSD.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Microsoft Corp. to deliver a 2-in-1 tablet that truly allows people to enjoy productivity and connections that matter most, through a seamless mobile station designed for all purposes,” said Samsung Electronics president and head of mobile communications business Dongjin Ko.

The Galaxy TabPro S has the same display, regardless of the model, but that’s not likely to be a problem, as it has a gorgeous, 12-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2160 x 1440 resolution. The tablet also includes a detachable keyboard cover that acts as a stand when you need a laptop more than a tablet.

You’ll have a couple choices when it comes to connectivity. You can opt for the Wi-Fi-only model or the version with LTE connectivity. Wi-Fi features include 802.11ac and Wi-Fi Direct. The tablet also includes Bluetooth 4.1.

As we mentioned earlier, the Galaxy TabPro S looks like it could be a good fit for business use, though it will obviously also appeal to customers planning to use it as an entertainment device. To that end, Samsung is offering models with Windows 10 Home or Pro.
