Microsoft’s Entry-Level Surface Pro 3 Receives $100 Price Cut, Starts At $699

Two weeks ago, Microsoft initiated a $100 price cut for its Surface Pro 3 tablets. The 128GB model with a 128GB SSD and Intel Core i5 processor dropped from $999 to $899, while the configuration with a 256GB SSD and an Intel Core i5 processor fell from $1,299 to $1,199. While these price cuts were definitely appreciated, Microsoft declined to include the entry-level Surface Pro 3 in that initial round of price cuts.

Thankfully, Microsoft has come to its senses and is now trimming $100 from the base system, dropping it from $799 to a more enticing $699 (this represents a bigger percentage discount compared to the pricier models). For that price, you’ll receive a 64GB SSD and a 1.5GHz fourth generation Intel Core i3-4020Y processor with 4GB of memory. All of the other Surface 3 Pro perks remain including the gorgeous 12-inch 2160x1440 display, magnesium chassis, 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Dolby stereo speakers, and a battery rated for nine hours of runtime.

In addition to the $100 price cut, Microsoft is also throwing in a free laptop sleeve in with the purchase of a Surface Pro 3. Microsoft has a wide selection to choose from (there are thirteen styles to choose from) and values the freebie at $39.99.

The $100 promotion on the Surface 3 ends on February 28, while the free sleeve offer will expire on April 5.
