Xcom Global Teams With Rebtel For VoIP Offering
XCom Global’s high-speed Internet access rental service provides international travelers unlimited data usage and the freedom to wirelessly roam abroad at fixed rates starting at $12.95/per day in over 60 countries including Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Bundled with the Unlimited aXcess plan, the XCom Global’s MiFi Hotspot rental unit enables instant access to a personal mobile hotspot, so travelers can stay connected wherever they are.
“Our goal is to help international travelers stay connected reliably and inexpensively,” said Seiji Nishimura, founder and CEO, XCom Global, Inc. “We know our customers understand the value that our unlimited data service provides, however many have not yet tapped into VoIP for voice communications. Not only is it a very easy and affordable way to make international calls, but it may be how all voice communications are handled in the future. We are pleased to be working with Rebtel to introduce this valuable service to our customers.”
Rebtel, based in Sweden, is one of the largest mobile VoIP service operators in the world. With 13 million users, it is second only to Skype, with rates that are 40% lower than Skype’s standard pricing. Rebtel’s Mobile VoIP service is available by downloading an app to an iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows PC. The Rebtel voucher, to be issued by XCom Global, will provide a code to be entered into the Rebtel Mobile VoIP app. This will allow the user 133 minutes of free calls from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the United States. For example, a call from a Rebtel-enabled iPhone can be made from Barcelona to a landline in San Diego or a cell phone in New York. And calls between Rebtel users are always completely free.
It's a pretty solid offering, and given that most folks renting these MiFis will also be interested in making calls.
