Wikipad Slashes Price of 7-inch Android Gaming Tablet to $199
That's $50 cheaper than the $249 price tag it carried yesterday. In addition to having a lower cost of entry, the Wikipad 7 is now capable of mapping touch games to the controller, thereby eliminating one of the limitations of many mobile games in which control schemes are not suited for touch play.
"Aptly named Wikipad Controller Assistant, users can now transform ordinary touchscreen controls of virtually any Android game into extraordinary gaming experiences using Wikipad’s gamepad mapper and patented gamepad controller. Content is king and Wikipad 7 offers a complete ransom of software riches such as Madfinger Games’ Dead Trigger 2 and titles from amazing partners such as Google Play from Google Mobile Services, PlayStation Mobile games from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., and TegraZone – NVIDIA's free app that highlights the best games optimized for the Tegra processor," Wikipad said.
The Wikipad 7 boasts a 7-inch widescreen multi-touch IPS display with a 1280x800 resolution, 1.3GHz NVIDA Tegra 3 SoC, 1GB of DDR3 memory, 16GB of internal storage, 2MP front-facing camera, SD card slot, USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth connectivity, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. It also features dual analog gaming sticks (removable) an several pre-installed games.
Wikipad says Best Buy is the first retailer to offer the Wikipad 7 at its new price point.
