Verizon to Sling Samsung's 4G LTE Galaxy Note 10.1 for $600 on March 7
Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet with S Pen is headed to Verizon this week, the wireless carrier announced today. Big Red will sell the device for a penny shy of $600 online and in stores beginning March 7, 2013, which is this Thursday. Verizon subscribers who pick one up can add the tablet to their Share Everything account for $10 per month.
Previously announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the 4G LTE-enabled Galaxy Note 10.1 features a 10.1-inch TFT display with a 1280x800 screen resolution, Qualcomm1.4GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot), 1.9MP front-facing camera, 5MP rear-facing camera, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box (covered with TouchWiz).
The tablet measures 10.3 inches (W) by 7.1 inches (H) by 0.4 inches (D) and weighs 21.2 ounces, so it's a thin and light slate. One of the main selling points, however, is the advanced S Pen stylus.
"Business professionals can take notes during meetings with handwriting-to-text capabilities, and drawing tools to jot down plans. Notes can be saved and shared over 4G LTE with coworkers and clients," Verizon says.
The other big feature of the Galaxy Note 10.1 is the multiscreen view that allows users to view two apps at once by splitting the screen. One example of where this would come in handy is reading a news article or research document while taking notes at the same time.
