Transcend Touts New 4GB "aXeRAM" Dual-Channel Memory Kit

Quick, name three companies you associate with high-end RAM. Now go an name two more. Was Transcend among any them? If so, you're either lying (shame on you), or you work for Transcend (oh, hi there). Transcend isn't usually the first company you think of when shopping enthusiast grade memory kits, and probably isn't on your RAM radar at all. Perhaps we should rethink things.

Transcend, which is probably best known for its line of flash memory products, like memory cards and USB thumb drives, just launched a new dual-channel PC RAM kit -- 4GB aXeRAM DDR3-2400 -- aimed at LGA1156 Core i7 system owners with a penchant for overclocking.

"The aXeRAM DDR3-2400 dual-channel memory kit has been tested for use on Intel P55-based motherboards, including Asus P7P55D Premium and Asus P7P55D Deluxe," Transcend says. "Thanks to its use of high thermal efficiency aluminum heatsinks with cooling fins, the kit delivers amazing overclocking performance while maintaining cool temperatures."

At stock speeds, the aXeRAM memory kit comes rated with 9-11-9-28 timings and an operating voltage of 1.65V. Transcend says all related "modules are comprised of 128Mx8 high-quality DDR3 FBGA chips and use PCBs that fully comply with rigorous JEDEC standards."

What Transcend didn't say is when this spunky dual-channel kit will start shipping and for how much.
