Steam Winter Sale Brings Holiday Cheer To Gamers, Entices Daily Check Ins With Ongoing Comic Book Reveal

For the most part (and barring brand new releases), only rookie PC gamers pay full price for titles. Steam's various sales throughout the year ensure a steady flow of discounts, the only downside being that you end stockpiling more titles than you'll have time to play. Or maybe that's just us. In any event, Steam's Winter Sale has begun, and with it are thousands of discounted games.

To keep gamers coming back throughout the sale period, Valve is trying something new this time around. For the first time, it's featuring a Steam Sale comic, "Gingerbread Jake In: North Pole Noir." It's a free comic, though you can't read it in its entirety -- a new page is being revealed each day of the Winter Sale.

It's a clever side distraction and one that's too early to tell if it's going to be interesting. But either way, the annual Winter Sale is all about the games. Here's a look at some of the highlights this time around:

  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Legendary Edition: $9.99, down from $39.99
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: $29.99, down from $59.99
  • DmC: Devil May Cry + Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition Bundle: $22.49, down from $44.99
  • Killing Floor 2: $20.09, down from $29.99
  • Grand Theft Auto V: $35.99, down from $59.99

For those of you expecting Santa to leave a Steam gift card in your stocking, you're in luck -- the Winter Sale runs through January 4, 2016, ending at 10 AM Pacific. For everyone else, go here to start stockpiling now.
