Samsung To Ship 55" And 65" F9000 4K HDTVs This August For $5500+

Ready or not, the 4K HDTV revolution is coming. And we're guessing that every single TV manufacuter on the planet is hoping for better traction than was received with 3D HDTVs. Samsung has just announced new 55" and 65" Ultra HD sets in the F9000 range, both of which will be available to pre-order on July 21st. Following in the footsteps of the award-winning Samsung S9 UHD TV introduced earlier this year, the F9000 series offers four times the resolution of 1080p. Each set also includes a  four-step process including signal analysis, noise minimization, UHD up-scaling and detail enhancement to seamlessly upconvert SD, HD or Full HD content to UHD-level picture quality. Both the TV and its software can be upgraded to be compatible with future UHD standards with a separate Evolution Kit.

The new models feature Samsung Smart TV, including a Smart Hub interface, built-in S Recommendations and plenty of apps. The F9000 UHD TV comes with 2-way 2.2 channels of 70-watt sound, but as you'd suspect, the whole package is going to cost a pretty penny up front. They're slated to ship in August, with the 55" model going for $5500 and the 65" model for $7500. Yowza.
