Samsung Rewarding Galaxy S8 And S8+ Pre-Order Customers With A Rockin Gift Surprise

It looks as though Samsung is trying to drum up some good will among its customers, the ones who were not put off by the Galaxy Note 7 debacle and decided to roll the dice on a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+. To show its appreciation, Samsung has been sending out a free gift to anyone who pre-ordered one of its fancy new flagship handsets. It is an amplified speaker dock in the shape of a cone.

Pictures of the free gift are popping up in various corners of the web, including Reddit, where forum member "raistlin89" shared several photos of the accessory. The box it comes in contains a note from Samsung thanking the customer for his or her purchase.

"Thank you for your Galaxy S8 | Galaxy S8+ pre-order. Please accept this gift as a small thank you for your business. Once your new phone arrives, don't forget to register it, in order to obtain additional information and valuable benefits," the note reads.

This is a nice surprise for customers who pre-ordered one of Samsung's new flagship handsets, or at least those who pre-ordered one direct from Samsung. It does not appear as though Samsung is sending gifts to customers who pre-ordered a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ from its retail partners, such as Best Buy.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ also comes with Gear VR headset and controller. And for $100 more, customers can opt for a Gear VR Immersive Bundle, which consists of a Gear VR headset, controller, Oculus content, premium headphones by AKG, and a 256GB memory card. That is quite a bit of loot.

Even without all the freebies and extras, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are desirable phones. The main difference between the two is size—the Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch display an the Galaxy S8+ has a 6.2-inch screen, each with a QHD+ resolution. Both are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and have 4GB of RAM, along with an 8MP front camera, 12MP rear camera, 64GB of internal storage, and various other odds and ends.

You can pre-order the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ direct from Samsung starting at $720.
