NVIDIA Claims New Mac Design Wins

NVIDIA sent word today of their wins on the iMac platform, if that kind of machine is your sort of flava...

"On Sept 6th Apple announced their flagship 24" iMac (http://www.apple.com/imac/), powered by the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics processing unit (GPU) as the standard configuration and the GeForce 7600 GT GPU as a configure-to-order upgrade option.  The GeForce 7300GT and the GeForce 7600GT feature the award-winning GeForce 7 graphics architecture and the Apple implementation uses NVIDIA MXM technology (http://www.nvidia.com/page/mxm.html) for greater design flexibility.

The fastest iMac ever, the 24-inch iMac delivers performance that creative professionals demand and a dazzling display-powered by GeForce graphics.  Whether you're editing video, managing photos, playing games, or surfing the web, you'll thoroughly enjoy the responsiveness and visual experience of working on a GeForce-powered 24" iMac. GeForce GPUs also deliver home-theater quality high-definition video perfect for the cinematic 16:10 wide aspect ratio of the 24-inch display.

One of the bigger news makers from Apple recently was their switch to Intel processors.   When Apple introduced the Intel-powered Mac Pro (http://www.apple.com/macpro/) they selected NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT and Quadro 4500 as graphics solutions.  The Quadro 4500 delivers antialiased points and lines, accelerated clip planes, and two-sided lighting, making it an ideal choice for the most advanced design and visualization. With two dual-link DVI ports the Quadro 4500 can connect two 30-inch displays for the ultimate visualization experience."

Even a 24" iMac wouldn't be my sort of thing but hey, my Mom might dig this, next to her spice rack on the kitchen counter... More basil Ma, more basil!
