Nokia To Recall 14 Million Chargers
On Monday, Nokia said it would recall and replace 14 million chargers made by China's BYD Co Ltd. While many say Chinese products are cheaply made, in this case they would be correct, as Nokia added that the chargers could fall apart.
Specifically, the plastic covers of the chargers could separate, exposing the charger's internal components and potentially posing a shock hazard. At this point, however, Nokia is not aware of any incidents related to these chargers.
The charger models involved are the AC-3E and AC-3U models, manufactured between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009, and the AC-4U model, which was manufactured between April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009.
