Monsoon Adds Mac Client For Vulkano DVR Device

Monsoon Multimedia has just added a critical piece of functionality to their newest piece of hardware, which certainly has the potential to change things up rather significantly in the DVR space. The Vulkano is a do-it-all home entertainment box: integrated DVR, web video, place shifting, Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) streaming and Mobile Video Recording are all possible. But what wasn't possible was syncing with a Mac.

That all changes today. The company has just introduced a new Mac client that gives Apple users access to all of the device's features, enabling them to watch and control any home TV channel through a wired or Wi-Fi connection from anywhere in the world simply by installing a Vulkano and downloading the free Mac software application. They can also schedule a recording through an included EPG (electronic program guide), transfer and watch the recordings at any time on their Mac.

Mac owners can also utilize the Vulkano's tightly integrated hardware and software UPnP-enabled platform with a powerful video processor to view content residing on the Mac from their living room TV, giving them an elegant solution to view photos and video wherever and whenever they want without having to hassle with messy cables. The full list of Mac features is below, and the app is available to download now for no charge.
