Lenovo Reveals ThinkPad S431, Ships In June For $699

Looking to swing into Spring with a new notebook? If so, Lenovo has you covered. The laptop giant has just introduced its newest machine, the ThinkPad S431. As the PC industry as a whole dwindles in the face of mounting competition from tablets and smartphones, Lenovo is managing to keep things relatively flat -- viewed as a plus when everyone else is falling. And the ThinkPad line continues to be a hallmark, getting even thinner and lighter while maintaining the rigidity that business users so love.

The S431 is a premium machine that's built for Windows 8. Lenovo claims that it can fit a 14" LCD into a 13" frame, with the rig boasting an aluminum LCD cover, a simplified interior with a 5-button clickpad, a multi-touch display, a six-row backlit keyboard and a third-gen Core processor from Intel. Other specifications include 8GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive, two USB 3.0 ports and a $699 starting price tag. Those interested can buy one starting from June 2013.
