Id Looking for a Few Good Developers for DOOM 4

Not only did Id Games announce today that it is hard at work on the next installment of the first-person shooter DOOM series, DOOM 4, but the company is looking to hire designers, artists, animators, and programmers to develop the new title.

"DOOM is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth," said Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software.  "It's critical for id Software to have the best creative minds in-house to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles."

No less than 15 positions were listed on the Id Software job listings page at the time of this news post. Most of the job listings indicate that Id is looking to develop for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 platforms. Three of the available positions are for Id Mobile and are for developing for the "DS, iPhone, J2ME, BREW, and Symbian" mobile platforms.

If Id is still putting its development team together, then it is too early to tell when DOOM 4 will hit the shelves. Considering the length of time games typically take to develop, it will probably be a few years before we see DOOM 4 come to fruition. In light of today's economy, this could mean good job security for the lucky few who make it onboard at Id.
