Go Big or Go Home: Acer Rolls Out Trio of Ultra-High Resolution Monitors
Acer just launched three new monitors in the U.S. market, including two 27-inch panels and a 29-inch display, all of which use LED lighting. Not just big in size, all of these new displays boast high resolutions with tightly packed pixels for a superior picture and ultimately more screen real estate to work with compared to a Full HD 1080p panel.
"With the goal of providing our customers a superb viewing experience, our new monitors deliver brilliant images, flexibility in viewing options and generous screen real estate," said Frank Chang, director of product management for Acer America. "Whether it’s a gamer, an entrepreneur or a multimedia enthusiast, users will appreciate the stunning image quality, comfortable ergonomics and size of these new monitors, which are easy on the eyes and enable better multitasking."
Starting with the T272HUL, it's a 27-inch consumer panel offering a 2560x1440 WQHD resolution and the only one of the bunch to support 10-point capacitive touch for navigating Windows 8. It has a 5ms rated response time, 30-80 degrees of tilt (it practically lies flush with the desk, Acer says), and generous connectivity options consisting of VGA, DVI, HDMI, and a USB 3.0 hub (1 up, 2 down).
The other two panels are prosumer models and include the 27-inch B276HUL with a 2560x1440 WQHD resolution, and 29-inch B296CL with a 2560x1080 resolution. They both tout slim and clean designs with venting integrated into the grooves, neat cable management, storage trays for holding common office items, and a magnetic surface on the base of the stand for paper clips.
Other shared features include pivot support, DVI-D, two HDMI ports, and a USB 3.0 hub (1 up, 4 down). All three models uses IPS panels and come with built-in dual speakers.
The T272HUL will be available later this month for $999 MSRP; the B276HUL and B296CL are available now starting at $599.
