Gigabyte Introduces Pine Trail-M Netbooks, M1125 Netvertible

There are people who will opt for a tablet after the iPad's success, and there are those who insist that a dedicated QWERTY keyboard is necessary for their use. And then there are those who will split the difference. Gigabyte is taking their opportunity at Computex to introduce one of those split-personality notebooks, with the M1125 netvertible debuting in Taiwan.

This machine boasts an 11.6" display with a 1366x768 resolution, and there's also USB 3.0 support (rare on a netbook, or any notebook really), an optical disc drive, VGA output, an Intel Calpella chip and audio in/out ports. Further specifications aren't being revealed until the show starts, but the M1125 is just the beginning.

The company will also showcase three 10.1" Pine Trail-M netbooks: the T1000, M1000 and Q1000. The T1000 has a rotating multi-touch display, chiclet keyboard and "gold textured surfaces." The M1000 has a docking station (definitely unusual for a netbook), while the Q1000 is more of the "standard fare." Pricing on all of these has yet to be made public, and we're still waiting on ship dates as well. At least we're assured that tablets won't completely overtake smaller, fully-featured notebooks...we think.

GIGABYTE will exhibit three 10.1-inch Pine Trail-M netbook platforms combining style, technology and functionality. These are the T1000, M1000 and Q1000. The T1000 has a rotating multi-touch screen, chiclet keyboard and is aesthetically appealing with its gold textured surfaces. The M1000, includes the innovative docking station from GIGABYTE, allowing the netbook to be used as a mobile device or as a workstation when docked. Finally, the Q1000 emphasizes its design simplicity while offering functional mobile computing. Consumers will now have a wider variety with better options available to them with the introduction of these 3 unique netbooks.
