Facebook Launches 15 Second “Video on Instagram” Sharing Service
Video on Instagram (which is of course Facebook’s answer to Vine) offers thirteen different filters you can choose from, and users will be able to choose an image from the video to use as a cover image, which is a nice touch and will also help users remember which video is of what.
Privacy with Video on Instagram is the same as with photos: “Only the people who you let see your photos will be able to see your videos. And as with photos, you own your videos,” reads an Instagram blog post.
Side note: Because you can add filters to videos, that means that Instagram is essentially processing video on the fly. That’s kind of astonishing, especially considering how many videos are about to be unleashed on the photo- and video-sharing service.
Video on Instagram is available on iOS and Android, and you can download the app now for free in the App Store and on Google Play.
