Cortana Adds Tracking Your To-Do Lists To Its Skills Repertoire In Windows 10

Microsoft has taught Cortana a new skill just in time for the holiday shopping season. It's the ability to create and manage lists, something most of use do throughout the year and especially during the holiday months. After all, there are grocery items to buy for the big feast and presents to pick up for the kids, and it's not like the daily responsibilities of work go away during this time of year.

Cortana can help, provided she's your digital assistant of choice these days. If so, you can now have Cortana make lists and update them as needed in Windows 10 and through Cortana on your mobile device (Android 4.4 or later, iPhones with iOS 8.0 or later, and Windows 10 in the U.S.).

Cortana Lists

"Whether it’s planning a holiday meal, buying gifts, getting things done before you head out for vacation, or keeping track of who’s naughty or nice, you can use your voice or type to quickly create a new list, add to an existing list when inspiration strikes, and pull up your lists just when you need them on any device. Cortana will automatically start a Grocery, To Do, and Shopping list for you so it’s easy to get started," Microsoft says.

We tried it out ourselves and it works as advertised. In addition, Cortana also works with Wunderlist, the popular to-do list app that Microsoft acquired last year, which allows you to tap into deeper list functionality. You just need to connect Cortana to your Wunderlist account and then you can do things like add due dates to your to-do list and created shared lists.
