Battlefield 4 Event Set for March 26, Celebrating a New Era with BF4

Rest up, soldier, Battlefield 4  is nearing release. Electronic Arts has begun sending out invitations to the press for a Battlefield 4 press event scheduled for March 26, 2013, one which will "celebrate a new era" of the popular gaming franchise. It will take place during the 2013 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, an event that runs from March 25 through 29.

A leaked image similar in style to Battlefield 3 suggests a modern day setting for Battlefield 4. It's unknown if the image is real, though it does look strikingly similar to the official teaser invitation. The image depicts an armored soldier running in the rain wielding a pistol and sniper rifle, with several tanks following behind. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the upcoming title.

Battlefield 4 Leak

Anyone who pre-ordered last fall's Medal of Honor game will get access to Battlefield 4's beta.

"We're not ready to talk about Battlefield 4 yet - in the meantime, we hope you will continue to enjoy Battlefield 3 and all the Battlefield 3 Premium content still to come. We invite you to check out Danger Close Studio's Medal of Honor Warfighter, which is also powered by the Frostbite 2 engine and the free social network, Battlelog. Don't forget that pre-ordering Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition (at no extra cost) guarantees access to the exclusive Battlefield 4 beta," Dice said in a statement last July.

Stay tuned -- we'll have more details as they emerge.
