Apple’s iPad Now Offering 128GB, Priced at $799
"With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs," said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs."
While most people view the iPad as a content consumption device, Apple's still trying to pitch it as a productivity tool, pointing out that virtually all of the Fortune 500 companies and over 85 percent of the Global 500 are currently deploying or testing the iPad.
"Companies regularly utilizing large amounts of data such as 3D CAD files, X-rays, film edits, music tracks, project blueprints, training videos and service manuals all benefit from having a greater choice of storage options for iPad," Apple stated in a press release.
Other than double the amount of storage from its current flagship model, the new iPad is unchanged from existing models. It still has a 9.7-inch Retina display, A6X processor, and everything else found in 4th gen models. The 128GB Wi-Fi model will sell for $799 and the Wi-Fi + Cellular will go for $929, just as previously rumored.
