Apple Now Selling Refurbished iPhones With Full Warranty To Bargain Shoppers

Today is a brand new day, folks, and things you thought would not be possible have come to fruition. No, this isn't a political post talking about last night's presidential election (we figure you're already inundated with political chatter on your social media feeds, you don't need us adding to it). We're referring to Apple selling refurbished through its online store.

Apple isn't in the habit of selling refurbished handsets and hasn't done this since the iPhone 3G. Sure, the Cupertino outfit has sold refurbished Mac systems, refurbished iPad tablets, and and refurbished accessories on occasion, all at nifty discounts and backed by the original warranty. But before now, refurbished iPhones have only one other time appeared in Apple's online store.

Apple iPhone 6s Plus

So, what's up for grabs? Refurbished iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models with various amounts of storage is what you'll find in Apple's online store. Each available model is marked down 15 percent. Here's a look at the current inventory:
  • iPhone 6s 16GB - Rose Gold/Space Gray/Silver/Gold: $449
  • iPhone 6s Plus 16GB - Rose Gold/Space Gray/Silver/Gold: $529
  • iPhone 6s Plus 64GB - Rose Gold/Space Gray/Silver/Gold: $589
Granted these aren't bargain basement prices, but don't be put off by the fact that they're refurbished. These aren't dinged up devices, nor or they missing accessories or equipped with lethargic batteries that can't hold a charge anymore. Every refurbished iPhone Apple sells comes with a new battery and outer shell, all manuals and accessories, and the same one-year warranty as an otherwise brand new iPhone. Other than the white box they ship in, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between new and refurbished.

Also note that these are all unlocked devices without an included SIM card so you should be good to go with your wireless carrier of choice.
