Apple Pulls Back iOS 8.0.1 Update Which Seems To Be Rotten To Its Core

Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus may have sold 10 million units combined during the first weekend of launch, but the new iOS software has been causing problems for Apple’s latest products. Consumers have reported that, since the release of iOS 8.0.1, features such as Touch ID are no longer working and even cellular reception is being disrupted. Due to the complaints, Apple is pulling the update.

“We have received reports of an issue with the iOS 8.0.1 update,” said a spokesperson to The Verge. “We are actively investigating these reports and will provide information as quickly as we can. In the meantime we have pulled back the iOS 8.0.1 update.”

When the update was installed, according to those affected, their phones displayed “no service” and neither turning the phone on or off, as well as toggling the device’s airplane mode, had any effect. Rather than older models of the iPhone being affected, it is the latest models that are experiencing these issues, which is another blow given recent complaints of the iPhone 6 Plus bending very easily.

For now, users who have already installed the latest update should to try and downgrade back to the original version of iOS 8 if possible.
