Amazon Listing Tips Upcoming 8.1-inch Windows 8 Tablet From Acer

Amazon appears to be excited to show off Acer's upcoming Iconia W3 tablet, an unannounced Windows 8 slate with an 8.1-inch display (1280x800). Acer has yet to offer up a press release or otherwise unveil the 8.1-inch Windows 8 offering, but unless Amazon is getting a head start on April Fool's Day and is really good at Photoshop, the tablet exists, though when it will be available is anyone's guess.

Right now the product page lists the Iconia W3 as being "Temporarily out of stock," though other details are readily available. Want to talk price? Amazon has it listed for $380, and it's eligible for Prime Member shipping. As for the specs, it's running a dual-core Atom Z2760 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and has 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 2MP rear-facing camera, a single USB 2.0 port, built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and a battery that's good for up to 8 hours of run time.

Acer Iconia W3

The Iconia W3 weighs 1.1 pounds and measures 8.62 inches (L) by 5.31 inches (W) by 0.45 inches (H). It supports multi-touch input, a critical feature to make the most out of Windows 8.

It's an interesting product, and one that could help ignite Windows 8 tablet sales. So far, the category is largely represented by Microsoft's Surface RT and Pro slates, neither of which is selling spectacularly. We're starting to see a lot of lower cost tablets enter the marketplace, and if price is the biggest hurdle, a $380 Windows 8 slate could be a giant step in the right direction.
