The Gyration Air Mouse Elite doesn't need a surface of any kind to make the cursor move, requiring just a simple wrist twist in mid-air in order to get from one side of the screen to the other.
Needless to say, this mouse has motion sensor built in, and it's aimed at presentation folk and those who just prefer alternative mousing methods. Essentially, it frees presenters and PC users from the desktop, with the proprietary motion-sensing technology enabling users to "issue commands and initiate presentation effects by slight wrist movements performed in the air."
