Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch Joins Apple

It wasn’t all that long ago that Steve Jobs famously feuded very publicly with Adobe over the use of the latter’s Flash in mobile devices. (A few years hence and HTML5 is king. Go figure.) Now, one of the guys calling the shots at Adobe during that time, Kevin Lynch, is leaving the company to become Apple’s vice president for technology.

According to Bloomberg, Lynch will report to Senior Vice President Bob Mansfield, and he will likely work on cloud services for Apple, as developing subscription-based services with a mobile bent was his forte at Adobe.

It’s interesting that Lynch is moving from CTO to VP, and it’s also worth noting that Adobe isn’t going to replace him--reports indicate that the company isn’t planning to hire a new CTO at all.

Lynch’s last day at Adobe will be March 22nd.
