Sprint Targets iPad Users With Overdrive
With the iPad
launch getting closer and closer, Sprint wants to remind you
that its Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot will be the perfect accessory for
Apple's latest device. According to the wireless carrier, the Overdrive 3G/4G
Mobile Hotspot will give you speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G. In addition,
the Overdrive can connect up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices, so you
won't be limited to access on just the iPad.
Currently, Sprint and Clearwire offer 4G service in 28 major markets. The companies plan to add additional markets throughout the year and expect to cover up to 120 million people by year end.
With the Sprint Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot, you can surf the web on your new iPad up to 10 times faster than 3G; download your favorite tunes on your Zune HD in seconds; or turn your iPod Touch with Skype into a voice phone and make a call.
Not only does the Overdrive enhance everything your favorite device was built for, it also connects up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices such as your computer, game console or camera.
"When coupled with Sprint's 4G technology, any Wi-Fi-enabled device will be faster than 3G," said Matt Carter, president of Sprint 4G. "It will be six months to a year or longer before any other national wireless carrier can connect a Wi-Fi-enabled tablet like the iPad with up to four more wireless devices simultaneously at 4G speeds like the Overdrive can do today."
