Razer Introduces Its Latest Mouse Mats And Provides A Peek At How They're Made

Razer announced its 2013/14 line of Razer mouse mats. The lineup includes four new mouse mats: the Razer Invicta, Razer Manticor, Razer Destructor 2, and Razer Megasoma 2. All four of these mats are treated with new performance-boosting sensor-reactive surface coatings.

Razer takes its mouse mats seriously and has made sure each of these new mouse mats will work well with optical, laser and dual-sensor mice. The company puts the mouse mats through rigorous testing including mouse sensor lift-off, acceleration and precision tests to ensure the surface textures offer precise glide and control. Razer's Synapse 2.0 cloud-based software lets you enhance mouse responsiveness and in-game accuracy by calibrating a Razer mouse to a Razer mouse mat.

Razer's Invicta builds on the innovation of its predecessor, the Razer Vespula. This mouse mat provides a slick-smooth surface as well as a rough one to provide the play style required for your selected game. The Invicta is currently available for preorder.

The Razer Manticor features a smooth, effortless glide since it is stamped and sandblasted out of a single sheet of aircraft-grade aluminum. This mouse mat is also treated with a sensor-reactive coating to provide precision. The Manticor is available for preorder now.

Building on the success of its predecessor, the Razer Destructor 2 offers an all-new surface coating that promises ultra-precise mouse tracking. The Razer Destructor 2 is currently available for preorder.

Last, but not least, the Razer Megasoma 2 combines the precision of a hard mat with the comfort of a soft one in its highly stable silicon surface. This mouse mat will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
