impending price drop information leak before the drop actually happens,
primarily in fear of the information slowing existing sales. Not so with
Nintendo, which just announced quite boldly that they will be dropping
the price of their Nintendo DSi and DSi XL systems nearly 2 weeks from
now. In other words, this is the moment when you put a hold on your
DSi/DSi XL purchase and wait for September 12th to roll around.
Nintendo's gaming handhelds have long since been the most popular around. Sony has struggled to match the popularity, and with the 3DS just around the bench, Nintendo has decided to cut the prices of the existing models. Effective Sept. 12, the new suggested retail price of the Nintendo DSi system will be $149.99, while the new suggested retail price for the Nintendo DSi XL system will be $169.99. The Nintendo DS™ Lite model will remain at a suggested retail price of $129.99. The Nintendo DS family of video game systems is the best-selling in the history of the U.S. and worldwide. The new prices offer consumers tremendous value for their money while providing access to the best portable video game experiences possible.
