NVIDIA And Ubisoft Release Impressive Watch Dogs PC Game Trailer

You never know how a game will actually turn out until you've had a chance to play it and/or see it in person, but with that said, we're confident that Ubisoft's forthcoming Watch Dog title is going to at least look fantastic on the PC. You will too after viewing the latest Watch Dogs trailer, which showcases various NVIDIA technology.

"Ubisoft and NVIDIA have been working closely in order to create the most vivid and breath taking Chicago possible for the PC version of Watch Dogs," explains Paul Vlasie, PC Lead Engineer on Watch Dogs.

Vlasie narrates the trailer, providing viewers with some insight into the technology involved with the PC version. One of those technologies is HBAO+, which stands for Horizon-Based Ambient Occlusion. This is part of what allows Ubisoft to deliver PC gamers realistic shadowing effects around objects without crippling performance. You can read more about the technology on NVIDIA's website.

The trailer also discusses NVIDIA's TXAA technology. TXAA, or Temporal AntiAliasing, is a new film-style technique designed to reduce temporal aliasing like crawling and flickering that is sometimes seen in motion when playing games. In Watch Dogs, TXAA is used to reduce flickering in certain parts of the game, such as grass, cables, fences, and trees.

Watch Dogs is scheduled to release in the U.S. on May 27, 2014 for Windows PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. There's also a Wii U version being worked on, though no release date has yet been scheduled.
