NBC Returning To iTunes?
After a public spat concerning pricing caused Apple and NBC Universal to part ways last year, it seems that NBC might be returning to the fold. At this time only customers in the U.K. have access to the restored content, but there is a little surprise waiting for eager fans:
“Early visits to the restored content, however, reveal that NBC may have gained the upper hand in negotiating its reappearance and struck a deal for variable pricing: legacy shows cost as little as £1.19, while in-production shows sell for £1.89 [~$3.70].”
It remains to be seen whether or not NBC’s apparent victory might have wide-reaching effects on iTunes pricing, but it might very well be the case.
