LG's 1 Million Optimus G Pro Sales in Four Months is a Personal Best

When you're getting spanked the competition, one thing you can do is to pretend they don't exist and focus solely on yourself. So it goes with LG Electronics, the South Korean handset maker that would like nothing more than to swipe some smartphone share out of Samsung's pocket. While LG is losing to Samsung, the firm still found reason to celebrate, noting that its Optimus G Pro handset has topped 1 million device sales in four months in South Korea.

No other LG phone has ascended to 1 million sales faster than the Optimus G Pro. LG also set a personal record for 500,000 handset sales, taking just 40 days to reach the halfway mark (en route to 1 million). The Optimus G Pro is now averaging 8,000 sales per day.

LG Optimus G Pro 1 million

None of those numbers are too shabby, though they're trumped by Samsung's Galaxy Note II, which raced to 1 million domestic (in South Korea) device sales a month faster than LG. Regardless, it shows people are definitely interested in the Optimus G Pro, and the phablet form factor in general.

LG's fast-selling handset sports a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) IPS display, 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, microSD card slot, and other amenities.
