Hulu Teases New Lineup of Original Shows

Wondering what you can expect from Hulu in 2013? The streaming video service answered that question today by releasing a handful of trailers for new original and exclusive programming, including its first animated original series called The Awesomes.

Co-created by Saturday Night Live's head writer Seth Meyers and SNL alum Michael Shoemaker, The Awesomes is about a superhero task force that's suddenly led by Mr. Awesome's inept son Proc (Seth Meyers), who fills in for his dad post-retirement. You can view the trailer below:

Also on tap is The Wrong Mans (yes, that's plural), billed as a comedic thriller in which two lowly office workers become caught up in a deadly criminal conspiracy. Here's the trailer for that one:

Finally, and perhaps of most interest to this editor, is Behind the Mask, a comedic docu-series that follows the world of sports, but through the eyes of team mascots. The series focuses on four mascots, one each for high school, college, semiprofessional, and the NBA. Check out the trailer:

All three of these appear to have potential. Let's hope none of them turn out to be duds like Netflix's Lilyhammer (seriously, how did that show get commissioned for a second season?).
