HBO Go About to Go Mobile
The HBO Go service, launched in February 2010, which allows customers of DirecTV, Comcast, AT&T U-Verse, and more to catch up on their HBO favorites over the Web, is about to go mobile, which makes sense based on its name. The company has teased iPad, iPhone, and Android viewing in an HBO video posted on YouTube late last week.
The video says:
The video didn't specify a date that the service would launch, but "05.02.11" was flashed on-screen before the video ended. It also didn't say whether or not users would be able to connect to HBO Go over 3G, but the statement "wherever you are" leads to speculation that it will.
Streaming video over 3G usually leaves a lot to be desired, however. All the more reason to stay connected to wi-fi, we say, or hope for the LG G-Slate or Motorola Xoom (when it becomes 4G). Watch the teaser below.
