Gigabyte Unveils Ultra Compact BRIX Pro PC Featuring Intel Iris Pro Graphics

As much as we like building a PC inside a ginormous enclosure decked out with all the amenities, we'll concede that there's a certain allure to small form factor (SFF) systems, especially with today's hardware. Unfortunately, ultra compact rigs are usually gimped by weak graphics, which is what makes Gigabyte's new BRIX Pro line so intriguing.

The BRIX Pro is a DIY PC kit featuring Intel's Core i5/i7 processor options with Iris Pro Graphics 5200. Iris Pro takes integrated graphics to a whole other level and is on par with some discrete GPUs, with Iris Pro Graphics 5200 representing the highest end of the bunch.

"The Gigabyte BRIX Pro is the perfect showcase for Intel’s exceptional Iris Pro graphics technology," commented Henry Kao, Vice President of Gigabyte Motherboard Business Unit. "The deceptively compact BRIX Pro packs a high-performance, desktop-class processor that is highly suited to processor-intensive creative applications and 3D gaming titles."

Gigabyte's BRIX Pro kit is available in black or red with choice of an Intel Core i5 4570R or Core i7 4770R processor. It also features a Wi-Fi mini PCIe module pre-installed, two SO-DIMM DD3L slots, mSATA port, 2.5-inch bay, mini DisplayPort, HDMI output, and four USB 3.0 ports.

We've already lined up a BRIX Pro system for review and will provide an in-depth analysis in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
