Apple Testing An iPhone Phablet With Screen As Large as 6-Inches

It's a rumor that has been going around for some time now, but it's gaining steam. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple is testing larger-screened iPhones, which would add a meaningful fragmentation to the iOS universe. Apple stuck with the 3.5-inch screen size for as long as it could, and eventually upped things to 4-inches with the iPhone 5; but that increase only happened on the vertical side.

Now, Apple is seemingly testing new iPhone form factors between 4.8-inches and 6-inches, the latter of which would pit it directly against the Galaxy Note line. At some point, one would think that Apple would simply have to enlarge things. Regardless of whether or not Apple itself wants to admit to it, the masses have spoken, and they want larger displays.

If Apple were to introduce a larger-screen phone, it would probably keep a smaller one around as well in order to hit more demographics and preferences. In fact, would you be more interested in the iPhone if it were available in a larger size?
