AMD Cutting Workforce?
On Wednesday a rumor started circulating that AMD was starting to making cutbacks in its workforce, not entirely uncommon for a company that is attempting to become profitable again. As with all rumors, they don't always turn out to be factual:
An AMD representative denied that any cuts have taken place as of Thursday morning, but when asked if cuts were impending, declined to comment on "rumors and speculation."
The source of the rumor also went on say that AMD was going to miss its quarterly earnings target. Time will tell if this part of the rumor is accurate, otherwise it seems that the source is batting 0 for 2.
