4K Blu-ray Optical Disc Technology to Support 100GB Capacities
The early revelation comes courtesy of Singulus Technologies, a maker of optical disc replication equipment. Singulus Technologies just unveiled its BLULINE III, which it says is capable of replicating triple-layer 100GB Blu-ray discs.

"Only Blu-ray Discs with these capacities will enable movie experiences in the new ultra high definition format 4K in 'movie quality' in the future," Singulus Technologies says.
The above quote essentially confirms that 100GB Blu-ray discs will be used for 4K media, which would make sense given the recent buzz surrounding 4K televisions and computer monitors. What's not as clear-cut is what software will be used to deliver 4K content on Blu-ray media.
One other thing we should point out is that triple-layer 100GB and 128GB Blu-ray discs already exists (BDXL), but these are intended for burning and backing up data at home. It's a different format than what Hollywood is likely to use for pre-recorded 4K content.
