343 PAX Prime Unveiling Details Halo: Nightfall And More Insight On The Halo Channel

Halo fans looking forward to more about the Halo Channel and Halo: Nightfall were in for a treat at PAX Prime. At the convention, 343 Industries revealed some more information about the channel and the live-action series.

Halo: Nightfall, a live-action series, was shot in Iceland and is set between Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians. It takes place on Halo Alpha, which was destroyed by Master Chief at the end of the first Halo game. Though destroyed, a fragment of the halo ring has been orbiting a star and is partially functional. Because it orbits around a star, the surface is inhospitable for several hours a day.

Nightfall will focus on the character Jameson Locke, played by Mike Colter, which will be a playable character in Halo 5.

The Halo Channel, aside from showing Halo: Nightfall, will also show competitive e-Sports matches, a previously released live-action Halo web series Forward Unto Dawn, documentaries, trivia sections, additional shows by third parties, and the animated Halo short Headhunters. Halo Channel will also feature Twitch integration and allow users to watch live streams or even broadcast their own gameplay sessions.

The Halo Channel, along with Halo: Master Chief Collection, is set to launch November 11 and will be available on Xbox One and Windows 8.1 devices. It will also be available for Windows Phone 8.1 at a later date.
