Dell Latitude D810

Introduction

The Notebook Lab here at Hothardware.com is currently full of business and professional class notebooks, but don't fret, we will get to some interesting consumer class designs soon. In the meantime though, there is still plenty to keep us busy, including our latest arrival, Dell's new business powerhouse - the Latitude D810.  The Dell Latitude D810 sports an Intel Pentium-M processor with 2MB of L2 cache (Dothan core), riding on the i915PM chipset, with ATI Radeon X300 or X600 powered graphics.

Measuring in at 14.2" x 10.3" x 1.6" and with a weight starting at 6.49 pounds (our sample weighed just under 7.5 lbs.), the Latitude D810 effectively phases out the older D800, which will probably be discontinued soon.  This new notebook from Dell continues a design that offers a performance workhorse for the professional, which is why it is the least compact and most performance driven design from the current Latitude line. Obviously, this notebook is not designed for constant mobility, unless you just plan to move it around for the occasional presentation or business trip. Any mobility requirements beyond something that, and we would recommend looking at another, smaller and more portable, model.
