    M2N-MX SE Plus compatible with Athlonx2 5200+?

    My question is: The ASUS M2N-MX SE Plus is compatible with Athlon X2 5200+? I know the mobo has socket am2, so i should be ok, but im worried about the power consumption. Would any1 help me, please?

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 2 GB RAM DDR2(4x512, DualChannel, PC5300), XFX GeForce 8800GT (512MB GDDR3), ASUS M2N-MX Mobo, Sound Blaster AUDIGY SE SB0570 Audio Card (7.1), 2 SATAII HDDs: WD 250GB and other Samsung 160GB OS: Windows XP SP2(Pro)

    Yes it is compatible. It will run all AM2 capable CPUS and AM2+ CPUS with full features. Only early AM2 boards really strugged with power consumption but usually that was fixed with BIOS updates. There really is nothing to worry about now adays.

    That board though is kinda old and it uses an old nforce4 based chipset. I would recommend going with something a little bit newer of a chipset. Are you only limited to having an mATX based motherboard in your case?
