Asus EEE rumored to recieve finger gesture support

Eee fans, your second-wildest dream has just come to pass. ASUS' next version of the mini-laptop has hit the FCC, and we've got the pictures to prove it. Yes, as we speak (possibly, but maybe not) inspectors from the agency are poring over details of the 9-inch, second generation system -- referred to here as the Eee 900 -- desperately hoping that none of its radio waves do anything funky to anyone else's radio waves. There's no secret-sauce WiMAX or drastic changes we can see, though the manual does make mention of "multi-finger gesture input," which will apparently provide the ability to zoom in, zoom out, and do familiar two-finger scrolling on the newly resized trackpad. Check the pictures in the gallery for loads of looks at the new entry, including a view of its insides that'll make your eyes water.

Looks like macs aren't the only ones to have finger gestures.

I still remember using mouse gestures via the Nvidia control panel, just do a circle and minimize stuff, etc..

    ALSO:

Asus' president of sales, Kevin Lin, has announced the upcoming 8.9-inch Eee PC will have a touchscreen incorporated. Lin also speculated that the device may have GPS functionality, too, however this was not confirmed. The announcement has us a little confused, as earlier reports suggested otherwise. Still, Lin went on to say the expected starting price for an 8.9-inch touchscreen toting Eee will be around $500, and he also added that the Eee Desktop PC will begin retailing at the $199 mark. Put that in your Eee PC news pipe and puff it.

If they end up costing in the $300 range, I would be seriously tempted to get one from my mom... in hot pink.

     Acer?

    EEEEEPP

I avoid Acer at all costs, too much experience with them in the IT department.

The way I see it, Asus builds their own boards them selves, so they know exactly what its tolerances are.
