I feel that the PC brings the FPS experience to the optimum level... that being said, what is YOUR favorite FPS game (single player OR multiplayer... but just list your absolute favorite)? There are some great games out there... you have the Battlefield Series, HL / CS series, COD series, Crysis, etc.

My favorite : Call of Duty 4 (Activision)

I've been playing the Battlefield series since the start, CS since v1.3, and all the CoD titles... and I have to say, CoD4 is just an amazing game that tops them all. It has intense single player AND multiplayer action!

I actually think that BF Vietnam was the best gameplay in all of the BF series games... but I still like the total pwnage possible with CoD4! :)

At my college's LAN party our team name was "The Barrett is an assult rifle".

On a few of the worse teams we switched to Barrett's with ACOG's and used them as assult rifles. We came in first, with only one other team not being childs play.

 Bf 1942 with Desert Combat mod... that was tons of fun

 I play competitively with the 4thclan .Just a shameless side note but we are recruiting mature gamerz for Battlefield2 as well as Call of Duty 4 and Crysis so anyone interested should hit the linkage and apply within. never had a chance to play cod4 but if its that good might have to find a way to play it 

The original Half-Life is my favourite FPS ever.  It's revolutionary, artistic, and fun as heck.  Plus it very mod capable and produced the great Day of Defeat, along with the more popular Counter-Strike.  It's expansion Opposing Force is the perfect example of how to create a good expansion with new weapons, enemies, and a clever alternative storyline.  Half-Life 2 also is incredible, especially the gravity gun.  The series is my favourite for FPS's.

Call of Duty 4 is an amazing game too, just like the original CoD.  The multiplayer is also fantastic.  Time will tell if it sticks with me as well as Half-Life did.

My favourite muliplayer shooter is Counter Strike: Souce, single player shooter for me was Far Cry.

Bioshock is the best FPS I've played and is my favorite game of any genre if you couldn't tell from my avy & sig!

I can't choose just one, so here is my list in order of enjoyment:

1. HL2 and episodes

 2. Portal

3. Battlefield 2

4. CoD4

5. Crysis

6. Stalker

I can't really pick one....but!!!

Bioshock, HL2, and FEAR would be my tops
