my amd works fine havently really benchmarked it or anything but do play the occasniol game on it usally a older game though

I will not hurt your performance a bit -- its basically a software that will downclock your system when very little is being used (lowers voltages and HTT). What this does then is makes your PC more energy efficiant, puts out way less heat, and even extends your HW life some.

Now when you put a large load on the system (such as when you play games) the cool'n'quiet algorithm tells your computer "Hey you need to run faster!!" and thus your clock speeds go back up until the game is over (or you are at a loading screen or something).

Yeah, Ice pretty much has it. Intel have a similar thing can't remember what it's called though.

I have a question on this too.  So if I'm overclocked, while not in a stressful program it will underclock, and when I'm in a game it will go to the full overclock?  I wouldn't want it not to go all the way to my overclock in games.
