    ASUS motherboard memory recommendations?

Hello I have need a little help.  I am trying to find recommended memory for a ASUS M2N32 motherboard.  I find many post and I mean many giving advice to go to ASUS website and look up their recommendations for their boards.  I have been to ASUS webiste scoured it up and down and I cannot find any place where recommendations are???

I even tried to post in ASUS forums asking but I always get a error message saying server busy.  Can anyone link the exact spot it is?

     Thank you,

    Emily

Which one do you have? There are a few variations of that board.

The Asus site is pretty badly designed I will have to admit. Even I'm having trouble picking it up. The only segment I found is regarding corsair memory recommendations. But, let me state that all memory supported lists for all MB's are VERY small...Almost all memory will work with any board...

I looked this one up via goggle for the WS version of the board...These modules will work 100% guaranteed..They are also high quality modules ^_^. If you have any questions, just drop a reply...in terms of your budget, questions/concerns, etc...I'll help any way I can ^_^.

I have the WS model and it's worked with any memory I've put in it.  I think what Kamrooz recommends will work fine.  To find a list of supported memory, you usually have to look in the manual but I wouldn't worry about it unless you are planning to get really cheapo stuff.

Thank you for information.  Here is a link to the motherboard I want to pair with excellent RAM.  I do play games and want 4gigs of RAM.

Many of the post and reviews I have seen say this motherboard is an excellent motherboard.  I am asking about RAM for this board, because in some of the post about it there were warnings about making certain the RAM worked with it.

    These will work..

Fantastic modules also. They use Micron D9HNL ic's...Micron is without a doubt the most respected IC developer. ^_^...Enjoy =D.

You may have better luck contacting or checking out the site of the ram manufacturer to find out if it works well with your MB. Alot of RAM manufacturers will test their ram with specific boards and than list them.

That may be true, but I never listen to their QVL (Qualified Vendor Lists), they only list a VERY small percentage. I always google around with the model number of the memory, and the motherboard in question. I always pull up forums and purchased comments regarding the combination, if I read 2 or more that say it works..then you know it works. The QVL's are too simplistic...they just test a handful of modules..and post it on the net saying that is the memory that supports it...=P

Thank you for all the comments.  They are appreciated :)

Some good points.  I think many of them are why I wanted to look up ASUS own recommendations, I would think they would be less biased in there tests.  For them testing RAM with there boards would work or not work and they would say.

I have also done google searches, but often pull up a lot of sales pitches from websites trying to sell RAM.  So don't know how much credit to give to them, because they have an agenda to sale you something.

Does anyone have the suposed link to the spot at ASUS website for RAM recommendations?

     Thank you,

    Emily

    Re: ASUS motherboard memory recommendations?

That board doesn't have a QVL...I noticed it is on the left of the page for other products, but that specific one doesn't have it. But the module I posted does support your board 100%..You're probably googling in a fashion that isn't giving you results. The trick to googling for memory compatbility, is find the memory you are interested in purchasing, paste the model number into google, followed by the motherboard you're using. Chances are you'll almost everytime pull up pages with people that have that combo...and you just read to see if they state ram problems, if they don't...Then it's 100% compattible. The QVL list from all the motherboard manufacturers are half assed...It's not as good as you'd think and you shouldn't follow them. They just test a very small handful of modules, and for older boards they end up being old memory you are going to purchase...meanwhile, 90% of the memory out there will work on your board. The ones I suggested will work 100% with your board...I haven't dabbled with computers for 13 years without picking up useful information =P.

    Re: ASUS motherboard memory recommendations?

Is'nt that a little like "hit and miss"?  There are so many RAM it is overwhelming.  How could one hope to pick the right one to google out of all the available options?  I guess I was hoping for a better way to filter through much of that stuff.

I guess I will have to try known names and compare.

    Thank you,

    Emily

It is somewhat hit and miss. But that's how ram compatibility works. A large portion of ram will work with any board (as long as it states within spec =P...ddr2 for ddr2 =P). But the main point is, that if people have issues with the memory, they post about it on the net..where other people will help them. If it is not brought up in any of the posts regarding the compatibility...Then it's 100% guaranteed to work. You'll never find a site that shows a list of all compatible memory out their for each board, it's just too much of a task...and why not go for higher quality modules compared to what is on these QVL's?...Just googling the model number of your memory and mobo can give you a wealth of information if you know how to look properly. This is how I've determined compatibility for years, I've never had one problem with suggestions or computers I've built. There is just too many ram choices out there...and if it worked for numerous individuals..that's a sign that it is 100% compatible.
