    Any cell phone GURU's here?

     Hey all,

If you know a bit about cell phones than maybe you can help me out......

See currently I have a plan with Alltell (my bro-in-law in a store GM so I get good plan discounts) but not-so-much with cool phones. I wouldn't mind grabbing one from a friend or off eBay or something but Alltell seems to be the only provider that does not use SIM cards and according to my bro-in-law even an unlocked phone wouldn't have the ability to load Alltell's OS software unless it was purchased through the company itself.

This is my question then: Is there anything I can do? Workarounds etc.....

Wow, that forum is most useful. With my old phone I was able to create and modify ring tones using only bitpim. When I changed phones I attempted to create my own ring tones but my new phone would not have it. In that forum I found the answers and have already created 3 custom ringtones for the Verizon Krzr K1m. A feat I thought impossible from other boards I had read. Great Find!!! Thank you!
