    8800GT Pci-E 1.0 performance

Hi! Im going to buy a 8800GT 512M. The problem is my mobo is a ASUS M2N-MX that supports Pci-E 1.0 and NOT 2.0. So, im wondering if ill get a lower graphics performance than if my mobo would support PCI-E 2.0. Is this the case? If it is: would performance be greatly affected or just a little? Would you recommend me to buy a new motherboard?

    Thanks in advance!Smile

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 4 GB RAM(2x2, Kingston, PC2-6400), XFX GeForce 8800GT XXX 670M (512MB GDDR3), ASUS M2N-MX Mobo, Sound Blaster Audigy SE SB0570(7.1, HD EAX), 2 SATAII HDDs: WD 250GB and other Samsung 160GB OS: Windows XP SP3(Pro).

Your performance will be more limited to the overall efficiency of the board as opposed to having PCI-e 1.0

TBH there would not be any huge performance decreases that you should notice at all....dont worry you'll be fine Smile

Yup, no worries.  There's little, if any difference.  It's more of a future proofing thing.  I doubt the 8800GT exceeds PCI-e x16 bandwith.

    Hello
