I heard today from an extremely reliable source that ATI's next gen high-end card is coming in January... and it is GOOD.

It's probably going to be January or February before the next wave of high end cards hits. ATI has already shown off the 3970 X2. NVIDIA hasn't talked openly about their next gen, but it usually runs 12-18 months after the last release. And since the G80 hit last November, you know the next gen is going to be announced soon. We'll know more around CES I suspect.

Any idea when a new wave of video cards are going to come out? I'm just wondering if its worth it to buy an 8800 now or wait till the 8900's come out (assuming there next card is the 8900 of course).
